Grief Recovery Workshop


This workshop provides a safe environment and critical tools to aid in the grieving process that is natural following loss. Loss can take many different forms, including:
  • Death
  • Divorce
  • Illness
  • Retirement
  • Moving
  • "Empty Nests"
  • Unfortunately grief is poorly understood, and often taboo for discussion. As a result, people often grieve alone; trying to deal with the conflicting emotions caused by loss. We are all touched by loss - not understanding it can have negative impacts.

    Grief will continue to affect our lives adversely until we reject the many myths about grief, such as:
  • Time heals all wounds
  • Grieve alone
  • Keep busy
  • Be strong for others
  • Replace the loss
  • Recovery from loss is achieved by a series of small choices made by the griever. This program uses a format designed and written by the Grief Recovery Institute of California.

    In this workshop you will learn:
  • Myths that compound grief
  • To identify and talk about loss
  • Tools to deal with incompleteness accompanying unresolved grief
